How to use Cinemodded Vintage Lenses.

There are a few things to known in terms of using cinemodded vintage lenses.

Avoid using powerful follow focus systems and clip-on matte boxes with these lenses, as their built quality is originally not designed to withstand the weight and pressure of heavy and to powerful equipment over time.

Instead, use less powerful lens controls like Tilta Nucleus M in low torque mode to prevent damage to the lenses. Be aware that powerful lens motors from for example C-Motion, ARRI, or Teradek lens control systems could rip off the end stops while calibrating.

A few of our lenses are adapted with high quality M42 to EF adapters. Nonetheless, M42 mounts are simple screw mounts. Be sure to hold the lens at some point while calibrating the lens with your lens control system, so that the screw mount is not opening up during calibration. This could result in the lens falling off your camera.

Note that some of our Lenses have moving and turning front elements. Therefore make sure to use matte boxes with rodsupport and donut-attachement or screw-in filters.
